Divine Message Through Dream
Hare Krishna! It wasn’t an ordinary message. Fulabhai, a native of Piplav, Ta-Petlad, had been living in Vallabh Vidyanagar for two and a half decades. It was the year of 1986. He had been hearing sweet sound of Bhajan-Kirtan at night in his bunglow, where he had given rooms on rent to some students of Sardar Patel University.

 GOSHALA/GOSEVA

The cow protection project of ISKCON Vallabh Vidyanagar started immediately after the great earthquake of Gujarat in the year 2000. ISKCON sent a team of relief workers to Kutch, the most severely affected area of Gujarat earthquake. The team helped the people especially by providing food for their body as well as soul Krishna Prasadam. The people were starving and animals were in the worst condition. The people requested our team to take some cows away from there and the team brought 11 cows to Vallabh Vidyanagar. The cows were in precarious condition and had to be given special treatment. They were kept in a small piece of land in a nearby village. This is how ISKCON Vallabh Vidyanagar came into the field of cow protection.
Presently we have 86 cows, bulls and calves. There are some sick cows requiring treatment for a long period. We cordially invite you to visit the Goshala.
Protection of cows is the single-most important principle towards saving the whole world from both moral and spiritual degradation. Simply by protection of cows all the wonderful benefits of religiosity and piety will be automatically achieved without any separate endeavor. This is because cows are as beloved to the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna, as even saintly brahmanas. In scriptures it is said, namo brahamanya-devaya go-brahmana-hitaya ca jagaddhitaya krsnaya govindaya namo namah, “My Lord, You are the well-wisher of the cows and the brahmanas, and you are the well-wisher of the entire human society and world.” (Visnu Purana 1.19.65) Lord Krsna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is the prime protector of brahminical culture and the cow. Without knowing and respecting these pleasing personalities, one cannot realize the science of God, and without this knowledge, any welfare activities or humanitarian propaganda cannot be successful. (SB 4.21.38 purport)
